Ken Ogawa - January 25, 1941 – April 1, 2010 It is with great sadness that we share news of Ken Ogawa Sensei’s passing with the greater Kendo community. He was 69 years old. Ogawa Sensei passed away surrounded by family at his mountain retreat situated between Mt. Shasta and Lake Siskiyou. We are told that in the days following Ogawa Sensei’s passing, it began to snow unexpectedly as if thousands of peaceful angels had descended on the area. In his youth, Ogawa Sensei was an avid skier and Mt Shasta was a place that he had always held close to his heart, filled with wonderful memories of skiing and family vacations. In accordance with his wishes, Ogawa Sensei’s funeral was also held there. He will be deeply missed.
