10 Basic Dojo Etiquette

1. When you enters or leaves the dojo, bow in greeting or farewell.
2. Take off your shoes before walk on the dojo floor.
3. Do not step over or hit a shinai and bogu with your feet.
4. Lower rank student will sit to the left of the higher rank student.
5. Check your shinai for cracks and splinters before and after classes.
6. Keep your finger nails and toe nails trimmed.
7. Do not wear jewelry during keiko.
8. Keep good and loud kiai.
9. Thank high ranking senseis and visitors.
10. Respect your opponent and keep good manners.
